Fall in love with FOOD Challenge

Proper fuel with food is at LEAST 70% of your results so while workouts can fine tune your build, the REAL work happens in the kitchen! Which is what the 6 week  Fall in love with FOOD challenge is all about :)

If you're curious about some workouts to try though, here's how I'd describe some of the programs I've done....

I don't know about you, but my life is way to busy to take time to pack up my clothes, drive to the gym, get dressed, workout (while feeling super uncomfortable that people are watching me), get all sweaty, pack up, drive home, then shower! Since graduating college starting my first home business and working as an ER nurse, I quickly decided home workouts were the best route for me to go :) Over the years I've tried SO many and there are definitely workouts I prefer :) As of right now, The Master's Hammer & Chisel is my favorite so below I share with you what my favorite home programs are and why I love them so much! (listed Newest to Oldest)

*The Master's Hammer and Chisel: I did this program for 8 weeks in 2017 and it's a GAME CHANGER! It was created by 2 supertrainers, Autumn Calabrese (21 day fix, 21 day fix Extreme) and Sagi Kalev (Body Beast)! Each day you follow the calendar and alternate between trainers and workouts (I believe there are 12 different workouts) it's a 60 day program and it utilizes the portion controlled containers to help make sure you're getting enough food! It's a metabolism booster for SURE! At the end of this program I was at my highest weight, but my leanest build (screw the scale, I freaking LOVED it)!

*Cize: It's called "The end of exercize" for a reason! Oh my goodness this program is a BLAST! If you love to dance this is for you! The workout IS learning choreography and then at the end you put it all together! I did this program utilizing Beachbody on Demand online streaming through my laptop because once I learned the dances and had them down I could mash them up and make my whole 20-30 minute workout just 4-6 dances! By the end I was drenched in sweat and loving life! Amazing workout! Note: if you don't have rhythm and hate working out to a beat this might not be for you

*The 21 Day Fix Extreme: I didn't love the 21 day fix workouts, for an exercise-lover they seemed a little too simple for me, I wanted something that I wouldn't get bored with and I got just that with 21 day fix extreme! Not only did I LOVE the workouts, but my results in 21 days were similar to what my results looked like with 90 days of P90X3 (I'm pretty sure that's ALL because I followed the 21 day fix extreme eating guide and when I did P90X3 I ate "well" but didn't really follow an eating plan) This workout is NOT one to START with, but one to graduate to :) **Has a modifier

*Insanity Max:30:
To say I was nervous to start this program would have been an understatement. After completing the original Insanity in 2013, and injuring myself during T25 in the same year, I wasn't sure if I was ready to handle another intense Shaun T workout, but WOW did he put together an amazing program! It's the time frame of T25 mixed with the intensity and fast pace of Insanity! Workouts 6 days/week all 30 minutes each, the goal is to go as hard as you can for as long as you can, when you start to loose for you "max out" and write down that time, then jump back in and finish the workout at your own pace. The goal is to improve on your max out time each week, you'll blow yourself away with how much you improve over the 60 days of this program! The workouts are super fun and before you know it, your 30 minutes is up!

P90:
Released in October 2014, this is a program for beginners, it's the on switch to fitness, it starts out slow and by the end of the 90 days you're doing more than you thought you could! I love this program because it's for the beginner, for the person who doesn't think they could ever do a push up or a squat, it eases you into exercise and has an amazing nutrition plan to follow along with too! The workouts start out at about 25 minutes for the 1st month, about 35 for month 2 and about 40 minutes for the final month of the program. People have seen amazing results with it and I'm so glad we finally have a program like this in our library!

*PiYO: Don't let the name fool you, while this workout is inspired by pilates and yoga, I like to describe it more as an athletic strength and stretch workout. It's crazy amounts of strength and sclupting without any impact! If you've had injuries in the past and can't do the high impact jumping that other workouts request, this could be a better option for you! You're going to sweat, you're going to get that muscle soreness that you would from other lifting workouts, but it's ALL with your own body weight, there's no equipment necessary :) **Has a modifier

*The 21 Day Fix: I was a HUGE skeptic when this program first came out, partly because of the name...21 day fix? seriously? I'm all about the lifestyle change! Well I tried it out after so many of my customers were having such awesome success with it and I was very impressed with what I saw. The workouts are all 30 minutes and super simple (if you've been working out for a while, you may find them a little boring) but very effective. The best part of this program for me was 100% the nutrition plan. Nutrition has always been something I've struggled with and I've followed other plans but I always ended up confused. This program comes with portion controlled containers that are crazy EASY to use! The containers are color coded and there's even an app to help you keep track! (This is the simplest nutrition plan that has you eating TONS of food, just the right foods, in the right portions) **weights are recommended for some of the workouts **Has a modifier

*P90X3:
This program has DRASTICALLY changed my fitness abilities! I started it January 1 2014 and finished 1.5 rounds :) My goal was to tone and that's exactly what I did. I loved that each workout was only 30 minutes long and there are 16 different workouts, so I never get bored because I'm doing so many different ones each week! I also love that it has flexibility training with Pilates, Yoga, and Dynamix. The program is about preventing injury (and I had a bad knee injury from August 2013- December 2013 so I'm all about staying injury free!) If you think it'd be "too much" for you, think again, there's a modifier in each exercise and so you don't have to go all crazy right out of the gate. Go at your own pace and see how you improve at the end of 90 days! :) (Weights are needed! Pull up bar is optional, I used resistance bands instead) **Has a modifier

T25:
This program was revolutionary for home fitness programs! Each workout juts 25 minutes, it blew my mind with how insanely sweaty I could get in just 25 minutes! All of that being said, it wasn't a favorite of mine, I liked Insanity MUCH better and I can't quite put my finger on why. The moves were only about 1 minute each, but the minute couldn't end fast enough for me! It's definitely cardio focused and I know so many people who LOVE it and have gotten AMAZING results with it, it just wasn't a favorite for me. **Has a modifier

*Body Beast: This is another awesome strength training program, it seems to be more focused on men, but I was still able to enjoy it! I'm a big Chalene Johnson fan so I found Sagi, the trainer, a little boring, but the workouts themselves were all really effective! :) You'll definitely need free weights for these as well as a pull up bar or resistance bands for pull ups.

*Les Mills Combat:
This is another super fun program! Again it's cardio kickboxing, but very different from Turbo, it's more clean, more traditional, more strict movements, but still SUPER fun and crazy effective! It's also set to music, but music isn't as instrumental as it is in Turbo (in my opinion) **Has a modifier

P90X2: I bet you didn't even realize there was a P90X2! This was a one of the best kept secrets back in 2011 when it was first released. This is definitely a "graduate program" meaning that it's very beneficial to do P90X first, and if you haven't done P90X, to at least be fit before starting this program. It's more advanced and the workouts at most are 60 minutes (I think that's why I enjoyed this one more) the warm ups were really great and also focused on preventing injury! I don't know many people who did this one, but I loved it!

*Turbo Fire: Oh my gosh this is one of my favorites ever! Turbo Jam is where it all started for me so when I found out about Turbo Fire I was ecstatic! Turbo Fire is a super high energy cardio kickboxing program. It's set to crazy fun music and burns an insane amount of calories. After you learn the moves, the workout is so much fun it doesn't even feel like a workout! :) The workouts range in time from 15 minutes- 60 minutes depending on the day :) (some coordination is needed for Turbo, the workouts are set to a beat) **Has a modifier

*Insanity: I would be lying if I told you I wasn't terrified of this program before I tried it. I waited about 2 years before I had the courage to try it out and I'm SOOO glad I took the plunge! During my 60 days of Insanity my cardiovascular endurance shot through the roof! It felt like I was back in basketball practice from when I was younger and it was so much fun! Every single workout I'd be drenched in sweat and knew I gave it everything I had. The fit test was key for this program, what I did day 1 and what I did day 60 blew my mind!

*ChaLEAN Extreme: If you want to tone, add this program to your routine! I used this to tone for my wedding and could not have been more happy with how toned my arms, back and abs were for my wedding! It was awesome! And of course Chalene Johnson is the trainer so you know you won't be bored. She also does an awesome job at recommending which pound weights to go with for each exercise :) It comes with a resistance band, but I definitely prefer free weights for these exercises. **Has a modifier

*Turbo Jam: This program started it all for me. I used to hate exercise and didn't find it FUN until I started using Turbo Jam. This is the basics of Turbo with the cardio kickboxing set to music, just a little slower pace than Turbo Fire (this program was filmed about 3 years before Turbo Fire). The base kit also doesn't include nearly as many workouts as Turbo Fire, but it's a great one to see if you're a Turbo Fan :) (ps I used this program for 3 years before I tried any other workouts at home!)

P90X: I'll be the first one to tell you that though I LOVEEEE P90X3, I hated the first one, wasn't a fan at all. I can't really put my finger on why, I think it's a combination of a lot of things. I didn't enjoy how long they were, Tony (though I love him now) talked WAY too much and I just couldn't get into it...that being said, my dad did it for the whole 90 days and lost 25 pounds! It's definitely effective, just not as fun.

Hip Hop Abs: I only did this program for a few weeks when I was sick and didn't want something too intense, it's a fun program, just an older one. It's ab focused and definitely dancey :)

Rockin Body: This is another older one and I've only done a couple of the workouts and they were fun and dancey too!
